Below are the steps you need to go through to complete this exercise. You will need to find ways to accomplish the assignment by using the library and the Internet resources. Remember to evaluate ALL internet resources to confirm they are reliable and accurate.
The food you can eat in the Llano Estacado area, including how you will cook it (remember there are no microwaves!).
- Do a google search for recipes from the 1800s.
- Research the geography of the Llano Estacado area.
- Research the botany of the Llano Estacado area.
- Google for camping equipment/cooking equipment.
Where you will find water and how you will make sure it is drinkable.
- Research maps of the area that would include rivers.
- Research how to sterilize water using equipment from the 1800s.
The route you will take to Santa Fe from what is currently Wichita Falls, keeping in mind geographical limitations with your form of transportation.
- Research maps of the area, including topographical maps.
- Research methods of transportation in the 1800s, including group transportation.
How you will protect yourself from the Indians and Mexican Army in the area.
- Research 1800's firearms.
- Research other weapons from the 1800s.
- Research the way American Indians attacked their enemy.
- Research the Mexican Army strategies of attack.
